Present Continuous Tense (3)

When you add –ing to a verb, you have to be careful!

*If the verb ends in a short vowel and a consonant (hit, run, set, get), you have to double the last consonant, then add –ing.

· Wrong: hiting (x)

· Right hitting

*If the verb ends in consonant+e (share, make, write), then you don’t write the e when you add –ing.

· Wrong: makeing (x)
