DIALOGUE: The Arrival

Jimmy and his mother’s airplane just landed.

Jimmy: Yay! We’re here! Now we can go see Grandma!

Mom: Not yet. First we have to go to baggage claim.

Jimmy: Awww . . . baggage claim takes forever! Will Grandma pick us up?

Mom: No, sorry Jimmy. After we get our bags, we have to find ground transport and take a taxi to Grandma’s house.

Jimmy: Awww!

Mom: I know, it’s a pain. Just be patient – we’ll be there soon!

Jimmy: Do we have to go through security again?

Mom: Nope! You don’t have to go through security when you arrive. Only when you depart.

Jimmy: Can we get some food before we go to Grandma’s house?

Mom: But you just ate on the plane! I thought you were eager to go see Grandma?!

Jimmy: I am, but the plane food tasted like cardboard. I need to get some real food.

Mom: Well, why don’t we take our luggage to Grandma’s house first, and then we can all go out and eat together.

Jimmy: (sigh) Okay. I thought traveling was supposed to be fun!

Mom: Traveling can be a little stressful, but we’re going to have a great time on vacation!
