Book 1 focuses on short vowels. There
are 6
sections (short a, short e, short i, short o, short u, and mixed short
vowels). Each section includes a word list, ten sentences reinforcing
the vowel sound being taught, a speed-reading exercise, and additional
rhyming activities and games, as well as review quizzes after each
section.
Book 2 starts where Book 1 leaves off. The
focus in this book is on long vowels. There are separate sections for
long a, long e, long i, long o, long u, and review. This book includes
much more reading practice, as each section includes both a
speed-reading exercise and a two-page story reinforcing the particular
vowel sound being taught. Like Book 1, this book includes various
games, activities, tongue twisters, and quizzes with an answer key.
Book 3 (Consonant Blends) focuses on consonant
blends and digraphs. An introduction to the soft g and c sounds, as
well as silent k and g, is also included. This book has especially long
reading passages and stories, which reinforce short vowels, long
vowels, and the consonant blends and digraphs. As with Books 1 and 2,
Book 3 contains several games, quizzes, speed-reading exercises, and an
Answer Key in the back.
